After a wonderful spring season for XS Latin and an exciting guest performance for the A team at the 2017 Dance Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, XS Latin headed to the 2017 Nationals in high spirits and with great expectations. For the second year in a row, XS Latin took three teams to the Nationals, with this competition being the debut for the C team’s Rio routine.

On 5th November, the ISTD, the RAD and the Royal Albert Hall worked together to host the 2017 Dance Proms event at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Every year, this event attracts dance schools from all over the world and in all different styles and genres to submit video applications to perform at the event. This year’s spectacular event saw ballet, tap, street, contemporary and jazz performances from dances schools from Vietnam, Italy and all over the UK.

Eight teams were entered but two late withdrawals meant that six teams contested the 2017 British Open Formation Championship.  In recent years, this championship has been dominated by teams from China and the USA, but with no teams from either country in attendance this year the title was destined to go to a different country.

The growth of formation dancing in the UK in recent years saw the 2017 UK Championships being expanded to two days.  The Adult Formation Championship took place on Saturday 20th June, on the same day as the Junior 4 Couple and the Juvenile 8 Couple Championships.

XS Latin started its 2017 campaign by taking both the A and B teams to the ThyGer Dance Gala in Emsdetten, Germany.  Sixteen teams were entered for the competition but a late withdrawal from one German team meant that fifteen formations took to the floor to compete for the title.

The World Latin Formation Championships 2016 were held on 10th December and, once again, GGC Bremen hosted an exciting and large-scale event with a sold-out area of nearly 5000 spectators.

The XS Latin A, B and C teams all travelled to Blackpool to compete in the British National Championships on Thursday 17th November, which were fiercely fought by the 11 teams in attendance.

On the 5th November 2016, XS Latin A and B teams travelled together to Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, for the 2016 Zala Open.

2016 saw the British Open Festival amend its regular timetable and the Latin Formation Championship move from the usual Friday slot to Wednesday evening.  Eight high standard teams arrived to contest the title with a semi-final and final round being scheduled.

The 2015 WDSF World Latin Formation Championships were held in Wiener Neustadt, Austria on December 12th.

For the previous three years, GGC Bremen had hosted, and won, the competition in their home town. The last time the Championships were NOT won by the host team was in 2008, also in Wiener Neustadt, when Zuvedra memorably won with their Bond routine. Consequently, there was much excitement and anticipation about the 2015 competition and whether Bremen could win again, or if the Russian teams could challenge their title!

We are completely thrilled to announce that, as of late on Sunday night, we have REACHED OUR GOAL!!!!!! In fact, we have surpassed it!

The third Russian Debutante Ball was held at the Grosvenor House hotel, Park Lane, London, on Sunday 15th November 2015.

After XS Latin A team’s well-received performance at the 2014 ball, the team was delighted to be invited back for a second year to perform at this exclusive social event.
