XS Latin retain UK Formation Championship Title

XS Latin’s A and B Teams travelled to Greenford Hall in London on the 30th June to take part in the UK Adult Formation Championships. Both teams were excited, if a little sad, to take part in the final competition of the 2013 Spring/Summer season.

British Open Championships 2013

The British Open Latin Formation Championship 2013 was held on 31st May in Blackpool, less than two weeks after both the XS Latin A and B teams returned from competing at the WDSF European Latin Formation Championships in Lithuania. With four XS couples also competing earlier in the week in the individual Amateur events at Blackpool (27th and 29th May), this meant that there was very little rehearsal time available to the teams between the two competitions!

XS Latin successful in Vienna

XS Latin closed the 2012 season with both the A and B teams travelling to Vienna to participate in the annual 2012 Danube Cup. With teams from Austria, Poland, Hungary, Germany and the UK the competition promised to be an exciting end to the year.

XS Latin top British team at 2012 World Championships

The 2012 World Formation Championship was held in Bremen, Germany, in December.  With three of the top four ranked teams dancing new programmes, the anticipation amongst formation aficionados was great.  XS Latin drew 13th in the first round and danced their best ever performance at a World Championship, after making small changes to their Bat Out of Hell choreography.  With three recalls to the semi-final the team placed in a clear 13th position and were one recall from the team in 11th position.  This also made them the highest placed British team in the competition.

Nine teams were entered for and eight teams competed in the 2012 British National Championship, which took place in Blackpool in November.

Although five teams were scheduled to perform in the UK Adult Formation Championships 2012, only two teams arrived to compete. Despite the disappointment of three teams not appearing, the competition provided an excellent opportunity for XS Latin A and B teams to perform Bat Out Of Hell and Cabaret in front of an appreciative audience.

XS B success at British Open Championships 2012

XS Latin B, despite fielding some very new members, put together a superb performance at the 2012 British Open Championships to achieve its best result to date.  The team, dancing at its first ever British Open, produced a display exceeding expectations and performed with real clarity and attack to finish in a very pleasing 4th place, one place behind the A team and the highest placed B team in the Championship.

XS Latin debuted its brand new Bat Out Of Hell routine at the recent British Open Championships in Blackpool.  The team, including several new members, gave a good performance of the Meatloaf inspired choreography, which was very well received by the audience in the Empress Ballroom.

XS Latin ends 2011 in style in Vienna

XS Latin A and B teams travelled to Vienna for the annual Danube Cup on 17th December 2011.  The first division had an entry of 13 teams, including the recent World Championship finalists Zwölfwaxing A team, the German first division team Backnang A team and XS Latin A team. The second division had an entry of 11 teams and was XS Latin B team’s first international competition.

Zuvedra wins the 2011 World Latin Formation Championships

On December 2nd 2011, XS Latin A team flew to Vilnius in Lithuania for the 2011 World Latin Formation Championships.  The anticipation for this competition had been building for several months: the host team had prepared very hard for the competition but were to face stiff competition from the 2010 World Champions, Vera, from Russia and the 2009 World Champions, GGC Bremen, who had just convincingly won the German Nationals with their new routine, Blast.
