XS Latin retain UK Formation Championship Title

XS Latin’s A and B Teams travelled to Greenford Hall in London on the 30th June to take part in the UK Adult Formation Championships. Both teams were excited, if a little sad, to take part in the final competition of the 2013 Spring/Summer season.

Whilst still in London, the championships this year were held in a different venue which seemed promising for formation, with a balcony from which the audience could clearly view patterns. However, arriving at the venue the teams were surprised to find that the size of the floor was much smaller than they were used to rehearsing on, leading to a last minute choreography change in the A Team routine Bat Out Of Hell.

XS B, dancing their routine The Blues Brothers with a 7 couple team, drew first. Both teams were undeterred by the reduction in floor space and the fact that there would not be any rehearsal time on the floor, and produced strong performances demonstrating highly effective team working skills. XS Latin A Team retained their UK Adult Formation Championship title, with XS B once again placing second.

Both teams are now looking forward to the 2013 Autumn/Winter season, which will culminate in both the XS A and XS B teams competing at the WDSF World Latin Formation Championships in Bremen in December.

XS Latin would like to thank the competition organiser, Philip Wylie , for running the UK Formation Championships for the third time and encouraging formation competition within Great Britain.  In addition the teams would like to thank their supporters and sponsors, Capezio, for all their backing.
